Esk Valley Estate’s superlative Winemakers Reserve Hawkes Bay Chardonnay 2014 has picked up its 5th trophy, this time at the International Wine Challenge in London.
The wine is already acknowledged as one of the country’s premium chardonnays with two Champion Wine of Show titles and now five trophies.
Esk Valley Winemakers Reserve Hawkes Bay Chardonnay 2014 performance:
· Hawkes Bay Trophy New Zealand Chardonnay & Gold – International Wine Challenge 2016
· Champion Wine of Show, Champion Chardonnay & Gold – Hawkes Bay A&P Wine Awards 2015.
· Champion Wine of Show, Champion Chardonnay & Gold – Spiegelau International Wine Competition 2015.
“Two Champion Wine of the Show titles, and an international trophy is great reinforcement that this wine is pleasing to local and international palates. This is the only New Zealand Chardonnay to come from this distinctive area of Bay View in Hawkes Bay. We’re the only ones with a vineyard site like this and I firmly believe it’s what makes this wine so great,” said Winemaker Gordon Russell.
The International Wine Challenge (IWC) is considered to be one of the world’s finest and most meticulously judged wine competition which assesses every wine blind on three separate occasions by at least 10 different judges.
